Warning Signs Of Swollen Lymph Nodes

Runny Nose

A runny nasal discharge is common with respiratory infections such as the cold or flu. This symptom, also known as postnasal drainage, can cause a sense of stuffiness or fullness in the nose. Patients may notice a discharge that is green or yellow. A humidifier can help increase air humidity and ease a runny or stuffy nose. Using a warm compress can be soothing. Keeping the head elevated while sleeping may also help to reduce nasal congestion. Acupressure is also beneficial for some patients. Patients should consult a doctor if a runny or stuffy nose lasts longer than 10 days and is accompanied by fever. If the patient has green or yellow mucus, this may indicate bacterial infections. If you have a runny or swollen nose, and think your lymph nodes are enlarged, mention this to your doctor at the next appointment.
