There are many new hotels in Poland. For example, Hotel verte is a new Autograph Collection hotel in Warsaw that opened its doors in August last year. The reason to visit Poland in the year 2023 is not because you can stay in a palace fit for royalty. Showing solidarity with a nation that has shown its own solidarity towards the people of Ukraine is what you should do.
Poland, which shares a border of more than 300 miles with a country that is under attack, has welcomed more Ukrainian refugees. Add to this the plummeting numbers of tourists, though they are on the rise once again.
You can choose to visit the Warsaw Palace, or a city like Krakow, Gdansk or Wroclaw, all of which are hundreds of miles away from the Ukrainian border. Or you can get away in the mountains, forests and lakes of the countryside. Julia Buckley
