10. Mastitis
Mastitisis an infection that affects the breasts. The breasts can be affected by swelling, redness and warmth. The breasts become sensitive to touch and painful. Other ‘flu’-like symptoms may include fatigue, fever, feeling sick, etc.
Breastfeeding women are more likely to experience mastitis. It is caused by the fact that they have a lot more skin broken around the breast area, which makes it easier for bacteria to enter the ducts. It is not just a problem for breastfeeding mothers, but anyone can experience it.
