What is a bar fine?
You will be charged a “bar fee” if you wish to bring a woman home before the bar shuts down.
This payment compensates the bar for losing an employee for the evening who would otherwise have generated revenue by encouraging customers to purchase drinks.
Bar fines are usually between 300 and 500 Baht depending on location and reputation of the bar. If you wait until the bar closes, it is possible to avoid paying this fine. However, another customer might have taken your companion home by then.
The bar has no involvement in this aspect of the transaction. This aspect of the transaction has nothing to do whatsoever with the bar.
The bar fee is usually split between the lady and the man.
