The Most Expensive News Fails and Bloopers in History

81. BBC uses free Zoom to interview someone

Year: 2023
Network:BBC

In a hilarious mistake, the BBC tried to interview a visitor using Zoom’s free version, which only allows 40 minutes. The session ended abruptly mid-interview. Both the interviewee and the guest were left scrambling for a way to reconnect.

This is a warning to organizations that cut corners in technology. It’s not worth it to save a few dollars here. It’s not worth sacrificing quality when you’re trying to save money. We hope the launch of the starship test flight was more successful than the Zoom meeting.
