During a 2016 live broadcast, the dress of KTLA 5 Meteorologist Liberte Cha was responsible for an unexpected wardrobe malfunction. Chan’s dress color matched the green screen a bit too well. Chan’s colleague, anchor Chris Burrous came to Chan’s rescue, handing over his suit jacket live on air.
This act of chivalry received a lot of applause, despite the negative Nancys and pessimistic pats who claimed Burrous was perpetuating a sexist work culture. Burrous’ act of chivalry spread faster than butter on hot flapjacks and became a viral video.
