Tom Skilling, a weatherman for WGN 9, was doing his normal forecast when the screen in front of him displayed that Birmingham had reached an incredibly hot 201 degrees Fahrenheit. This was obviously incorrect, since the highest temperature recorded on Earth to date is 134° Fahrenheit.
Skilling couldn’t stop chuckling. The mistake created some confusion, but also a lot of laughter among the viewers. Tom Skilling has been in the entertainment business for more than four decades and is still discovering that anything can happen at any time.
