The Most Expensive News Fails and Bloopers in History

26. Did You Swallow?

Year: 2015
Network: Today9

A TV presenter asked a question that was poorly phrased, and her co-workers were left in stitches. Lisa Wilkinson, an Australian presenter on Today who was discussing a segment on a woman biting into a worm asked her colleague Sylvia Jeffreys “Did You Swallow?”

The question was so loaded with innuendo that the entire news team burst out laughing, while Jeffreys struggled for her dignity. Wilkinson continued her conversation, unaware of the double-entendre. This is not the first time a presenter has made a mistake live on air. However, this particular blunder caused hilarity among viewers.
