121. NYC Reporter Argues with Co-Anchor on Air
Year: 2001
News Corp.
Let’s add one more example. We have seen many examples of reporters acting badly. Jim Ryan and Dick Oliver were reporters for Good Day New York. They had an ugly exchange on air in the summer 2001.

Oliver had cut the interview too soon and handed it to Ryan. The story, which was about a building that needed an elevator in Chelsea, was innocent. But things got heated when Oliver threw Ryan the telecast. Ryan was angry that Oliver cut off the interview too soon. They got into an argument about it, which ended with both sides insulting the other’s competency.
