Hollywood’s solution to a large asteroid
In 1998, the film “Armageddon”, Johnson tries to avoid the scenario of a world-ending catastrophe. The movie shows a huge asteroid on a collision path for Earth, which is expected to hit in 18 days. All life will cease when that happens. Bruce Willis plays Harry Stamper an oil driller hired by NASA to land on the asteroids, plant nuclear bombs inside, and then detonate them before they reach our atmosphere.
