65. A bird falls from the sky

On July 4 th, a bird flew high above Merriview around 1:30 PM.

The tiny sparrow struggled to remain in flight when the wind picked dramatically up. He beat his wings rapidly, but was no match for a behemoth who descended from the bright summer skies amidst tornadic wind. The bird was stunned into silence as it watched the giant monster descend from the sky.

Before the bird dropped from the sky, he saw the leviathan engulfing the town in darkness.

66. Roland Wakes Grady up

Grady only flashed into consciousness twice. Grady flashed back to consciousness only twice.

He was knocked out by fear until someone shook his shoulder. Roland’s voice was high-pitched, trembling, and excited. Grady was confused and terrified by the terror blocking out the sunlight. He shook his heads.

He refused to look. He closed his eyes to keep himself sane, and he avoided the mammoth ship above him.
