5. Grady Leaves The Office
Grady did not want the ambulance to be driven through the swampy areas of Merriview, unless absolutely necessary. This stranger was not a child, pregnant woman, or elderly person. He would prefer Jacob to take him.
He stood up and groaned at the slight pain that reminded him of his age.
Grady put on his Sheriff hat and headed to the door.
6. There’s Something Coming
There was something coming.
Grady, who was betting that storm clouds were going to roll in the afternoon, could still smell rain even though the sky had a hazy, blue hue. Grady finally felt relieved as he walked to his cruiser.
Merriview is a lovely town with quaint houses surrounded by lawns, and many sidewalks. He waved at everyone he saw as he drove his cruiser; he knew most of them from his childhood.
