37. Pastor Redding Appearance
“Pastor Michaels told me yesterday that he will be retiring immediately.”
Grady felt an electric shock pulsing through his veins. He recalled the day Roland had come to Merriview and how the pastor appeared. He narrowed the corners of his eyes when Roland continued.
“And he told that he would love to have me replace him. I said yes. I am thrilled to be the new Pastor of Merriview Lutheran. “It’s only been a few months, but there has been a lot to celebrate.
38. Grady Is Stunned
You can call me Roland or Pastor Redding, whatever you like. “I’m not fancy.”
Grady looked at the stunned faces in the room. He was shocked to see how little people were reacting to Roland’s words. No one was surprised that Pastor Michaels was retiring (and by the way, where was he?). No one was surprised that a stranger would take over the role of Pastor Michaels (and where was he, by the way?)
By the way, this stranger was unknown to Merriviewers until three and a half weeks ago.
