The Baby Was at Risk
In her desperate attempts to release her trapped calf the mother elephant made the situation worse by unintentionally pushing mud deeper into the hole. The unintended result was a cause for concern as the mud accumulated in the hole could have suffocated the baby.
The urgency was pressing and time was running out. They knew that they had to act immediately, and were determined to find a way out of the situation.
